Vickie Hallam is Brighton's new Manager of Parks and Recreation. She is a key Municipal employee regarding contact and support for the Rotary Club of Brighton. She is working with Rotary to facilitate the planting of 85 trees in Brighton by Rotary this fall. The Municipality will provide the public locations and native tree species to be planted in partnership with Rotary and Trees for Life.

 

Through Vickie's department they also make it possible for Rotary and the Knights of Columbus to provide a fish weigh station at the Brighton Marina related to the Kiwanis Walleye Fishing Derby this weekend. They provide power and keep the washrooms open all night during the derby. Thank you to staff who assist.

 

Vickie was also introduced to other Rotarian's who will be organizing this years' Street Dance to be held on Main Street Saturday August 3.

 

Vickie grew up in the Madoc area and took an early role in advocating for recreational activities and facilities. She was very active herself including figure skating and coaching power skating. She has a history of working with Rotary Clubs while she was previously with Napanee for 19 years. She also looks to expand her abilities which has led to various roles and expanding responsibilities. She spent a couple years at Douro Dummer and Loyalist College before joining Brighton.
