Daniella shared some history of the Faroe Islands concerning their language - Faroese
About 100,000 people in the world speak Faroese and about half are in the Faroe Islands.
Faroese is a mixture of Islandic and Danish, an old Norse language with Germanic grammar.
The have 32 letters in their alphabet, and they don't have a couple of ours like no 'c'.
About 1800 the Faroe Islands was part of Norway which was part, or became part of Denmark.
After WWII Faroe Islands obtained home rule as part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
In School they speak in Faroese.
