Smile: blush

A middle aged couple had two beautiful daughters but the husband wanted a son, so they decide to try one more time. The wife became pregnant and gave birth to a son. The husband was delighted but when he finally got to see him he was horrified that the baby was so ugly. He angrily accused his wife of fooling around behind his back because the baby didn’t look like his beautiful daughters. His wife commented “ not this time.”

Then from the grandchildren: Why do Seagulls fly over the sea and not the bay.
Because then they would be called 'bagels'.

Stories
Relay for Life Virtually 2021
R Chris introduced Karen White, not a stranger to Rotary. She has a new role with the newly amalgamated Bay of Quinte Relay for Life.

The Cancer Society raises funds primarily for Research and support services. They have had to close offices and let staff go due to COVID.

In 2020 they had to adjust and held their first Virtual Relay for Life with 4,200 participants. This year, the event will be held June 12th at 8pm and it will be National. Their goal is to raise $4.5 million nationally.

For the Bay of Quinte event, they already have 91 teams registered. That is Karen's primary focus right now to promote and recruit teams. They have several corporate sponsors and seeking more.

She appreciates the years of support from the Rotary Club of Brighton as Luminary sponsors. Lights available on line.

Those living with cancer used to be called survivors, now they are referred to as participants of hope. Karen likes this new phrase because it is all about Hope.

R Jeff thanked Karen for her years of service, help and support.
