Elena is a grade 12 student at ENSS who has been selected to go on exchange to Belgium this summer for a year.

 

She is 17 years old. A life guard at the Trenton YMCA which she enjoys as it provides her an opportunity to talk to people.And she loves to swim and run. Elena runs for ENSS both Harrier and track and field. She is a ski racer and has been on the school team for 2 years. The ski race team is small, about 10 people so they are a tight group. She is also part of the Batawa ski race team for the past 10 years. She is passionate about ENSS and their running culture and success the past 45 years at Bay of Quinte Track.

 

She is very fortunate to have two families, one with her father and one with her mother.

 

Last year with her partner Nate their environmental project took them to the Canada Wide Science Fair in Edmonton last summer. During the wild fire season the skies were apoctyliptic orange and smokey. She is on Student Government and participates on with the Environmental Club. She shared role as MC at recent Earth Day event and she organized a Prom Shop at the school.

 

She is looking forward to her upcoming exchange to Belgium this summer, leaving mid August. This is something that she has wanted to do for years. She loves to travel, to new friends and new adventures.
