Dear Rotary Club of Brighton,
Would your club happen to have any members who are involved in a Rotary youth program, such as Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotaract, or Interact? If so, would they be interested in using a draft grant proposal I have written at [srbrown.info/DraftDG.pdf] to write their own District Grant? It would help young people in your District attend one of the humanitarian work weeks offered by Project Amigo [www.projectamigo.org]. I am a volunteer with the organization and have written the proposal based on the 2021/22 guidelines available at [rotary grants.org/district/]. I believe the 2022/23 guidelines should be posted after February 2022. Hopefully, the current Rotary International suspension of travel grants due to the pandemic will be lifted by this project’s starting date of September 2022.
Please let me know if anyone in your club would like further information. I could also let you know if other Rotary Clubs in your District are interested in writing a District Grant proposal on this topic so that you could work together.
Thanks for your help. Yours in Rotary, Samuel Brown
Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA District 5495 (Northern Arizona)

Smile: blush

A few years ago in Liverpool the local Health Unit decided to conduct a survey of the methods families were using to avoid pregnancy. At one home, the person conducting the interviews noted that the wife was very tall and the husband short. When they asked the question, the wife said they used the pale and saucer method. Not being familiar with this form of birth control he asked what it was. So the wife explained that the husband did it standing on a pale, and when his eyes got as big as a saucer, she kicked the pale out from under him.

There were several others from our resident 'Smile Doctor' but I was too busy eating to take notes and now they are gone. Sorry if you were not there.

Rotary Minute:

Rotary encourages new members to have a 'sponsor' someone to introduce them to the club, take them to other clubs. The sponsor is a key individual to orientate and make sure new member feels comfortable and gets involved at Rotary.
