We were joined this morning via Zoom by three graduating ENSS students. They were Hana Haytaoglu, Eva and Kira, part of a committee organizing a mock graduation.

This year, our school decided against doing a summer graduation & instead decided to do one in October during midterms. Unfortunately, this doesn’t allow for many students to properly graduate. It doesn’t allow for those in university out of state or out of province, those in the workforce who work daily, and those studying/writing midterms. We as students have decided to host a graduation this summer, July 23, so that all students can graduate! We are reaching out to ask if you would be willing to sponsor our event! Most costs are covered already, but we are hoping to raise about $300. We have raised $120 so far. We are using these funds towards decorations and any funding above what we need will be used towards cancer research. Here’s the breakdown of the money:
1. Donations to be used towards decorations (balloon arch, banner, balloons etc.)
2. Anything raised extra, will be used towards purchasing a brick in the garden of hope in the name of the class of 2021. (The garden of hope - is a foundation that donates to cancer research)
3. Anything raised above the cost of decorations, and the cost of the brickwill go straight to ENSS’s Terry fox foundation.

This will occur at Memorial Park and they have the Municipality on board. They will use the stage and students will walk across the stage similar to an actual graduation. They plan to have a professional photographer and a balloon arch for pictures taken for families.

They want to make it fun and memorable for students.

The supplies will be from local businesses who have suffered during the pandemic.
