R Emily introduced Gabriel as her temporary son. She is happy to have in as part of the family and he gets along well with Jack.
Gabriel is grateful to be here. (He has a birthday coming up soon - Oct 9).
He is youngest of three children. He has an older brother who is 23 and a sister who is 19.
His parents have a business supplying parts and repairs to trucks.
He is from a small city in Brazil of only about 105,000 people.
When he arrived in Canada he experienced some home sickness. But then made some friends and things are getting better. He missed his family and friends from Brazil initially. Everything is different here compared to Brazil.
With new friends and settling in he is loving it here.
School is very different. In Brazil he went to a much smaller private school. He says teachers at ENSS are better. At home school starts at 6:30am each day to 12:30pm. With some classes in afternoon a couple days. He said the subjects are very different and learn more here.
The hardest part for him now is language.
In Brazil, temperature seldom goes below 10 degrees C.
On his bucket list for Canada:
1. trip to Toronto
2. Halloween
3. Snow and make snow man and snow balls
4. Dog sledding and skiing
R Emily and Mark are taking him to Niagara Falls for a day during Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving also new to Gabriel.
