1. We received the following inquiry from the Rotary Club of Willowdale:
Brief presentation on the Computer Lab project (Literacy).
The floods in August 2018 in Kerala, India could be described as the ‘flood of the century’ and it claimed almost 500 lives. The floods have caused immeasurable misery and suffering for the people of Kerala and the scale of destruction and devastation in Kerala is massive. Entire villages have been evacuated; bridges, roads and other infrastructure have been completely destroyed. Over a million people were displaced and it will set Kerala back by at least two decades according to experts. The floods have damaged schools in many parts in the state of Kerala.
The Rotary Club of Willowdale is leading a project called Rebuild Kerala "Computer Lab", a literacy project in Kerala and happy to announce that we successfully completed the 1st phase in 8 schools in 2021.
We are focusing on the second phase in 7 more schools . This is a time when we, as Rotary Community in Canada can do something substantial. Let this be an act from our heart, for the affected, which needs your benevolence.
Best regards, Jobson Easow, President Elect, Rotary Club of Willowdale
They are looking for response by May 26th for May 31st deadline.

2. Brian Todd Memorial Community Fund annual presentation to be held May 29th at the Community Centre. About $50,000 to be awarded. See attached flyer. If interested in attending let Bruce know.

DG Iosif’s weekly report:

Saturday morning was on to The Inter-Rotary Spelling BeeFinals. Presented by 6 Rotary Clubs: Brighton, Campbellford, Picton, Quinte Sunrise, Stirling. Trenton and Wellington. This was the first in-person Spelling Bee Finals in person since COVID. An amazing group of young boys and girls came out to test their Spelling Skills. What an amazing turnout, parents, neighbours and grandparents were there cheering on the contestants.
A special surprise was at the Inter-Rotary Spelling Bee Finals, Ian Acton the lead producer for the video event. Ian was the first Rotary District 7070's Rotary Exchange Student. Ian went to South Africa in 1972. Past RI President Wilf Wilkinson was our District Governor.  Currently Ian is a member of the Rotary Club of Belleville.
If you are planning any projects next year that would require access to DDF, please send your intent to Lars by the end of May.

Have a great week!

Cheers,
DG Iosif

Final thought: A police officer arrives at the scene of an accident to find a car smashed into a tree. The officer rushes over to the vehicle and asks the driver, “Are you seriously hurt?”
“How should I know?” the driver responds. “I’m not a lawyer!”

Smile: blush

A man driving hit a rabbit. When he stopped he realized that he hit and killed not any rabbit, but the Easter Bunny. Being sensitive as well as an animal lover he was deeply upset.
Along came another car that stopped. A women got out to help and when the man explained what had happened, she got a spray can out of her car and sprayed the Easter Bunny. Immediately the Easter Bunny jumped up, bounced away a few hops, turned and waved to them. The Easter Bunny did this repeatedly until he was out of site. The man was astounded and turned to the women, 'What was in that can?'
The women showed him the can, it was hair spray and promised that it would give new live to dead hair, providing bounce and a wave.
