The Rotary Club of Brighton received its charter and inducted charter members on June 14, 1989 at a gala held at the Little Lake Pavilion. The Club was sponsored by the Colborne Rotary Club. Each person at the meeting received a commemorative sculpture created by Colborne Rotary president Gord Hoselton, a renowned sculptor. The President for the 1989/90 Rotary Year was Bob Briden and Al Ronneberger was appointed Honorary Past-President. The new club met Mondays at The Gables restaurant in Brighton. Over the years, we have used different locations as our club’s needs dictated.
