Business Meeting of the Rotary Club of Brighton
R Chris advised that we made $676 at the Interclub BBQ. Gerow's provided 2 free tanks of propane.
R Chris briefly hit highlighted of the July 31 statement which all Brighton Rotarians should have received - Street Dance netted about $5700, RI dues were paid and District insurance has been paid. In July we had surplus of about $5,289. Budget for 2018 / 2019 needs. All Rotarian's are paid up.
R Murray gave a big thankyou to Rotarians who stepped up, particularly C Chris for the bar, R Clay for getting cadets, R Dan for the entertainment and Campbellford Rotary for chairs and tables. He reminded that we all need to help.
R Clay advised that Hospice in Mexico may still proceed and we are committed to supporting this program at $1,000 US.
R Clay advised that we will purchase a Shelter Box this year and he is looking at literacy programs.
R Ricardo gave a brief update on our exchange program. He advised that Chris and Fiona Koets will be Eloisa's second host family. Also District is pushing that all host families and people who work with the student to get a criminal reference check.
R Ricardo that our new outbound to Taiwan struggled with home sickness on arrival but has been getting support and into a routine.
